Ans. Date and Time must be set from the extension connected to the first port ( usually Extension 101).  Here are the instructions:

  • Press Feature Key
  • Dial 9, Press # Key
  • Enter Time (recall button toggles AM/PM)
  • Press Hold Button (Switches to Calendar)
  • Press Recall to Select Day
  • Enter Month via Dial Pad
  • Enter Year via Dial Pad

Q1. My “Send To” PaperWise icon is missing from Outlook Toolbar, how do I get it back?
Ans.
  • If you open a second session of Outlook, the icon will not be on the toolbar of the second Outlook session.
  • If you only have one Outlook session open, and the icon is not on the toolbar, call Alexant support.
Q2. When I log into Query or ImageWise, I receive an error that Licenses Have Been Exceeded. What do I do?
Ans.
  • Release locked sessions from the PaperWise License Manager or
  • Make sure that all concurrent licenses are not in use – If they are Contact your system administrator.

  • Send an email from the Outlook Mail Folder to PaperWise.

Ans.
  • By double clicking on a document in the document list, the document will open in its own viewer which can be moved anywhere on the monitor (or monitors). A second document can be opened the same way so the two documents can be viewed side by side.
Q6. PaperWise Query, DisplayWise or ImageWise doesn't prompt for login
Ans.
  • a In order to log into ImageWise and Query each time the software is opened, the setting “Enable Default Login” must not be checked. You can set this by clicking on Edit, Preferences from Query, ImageWise and DisplayWise. Under the General Tab, make sure the “Enable Default Login” box is unchecked.
  • The box must be unchecked in Query, ImageWise and DisplayWise in order for the login screen to appear in any of the programs.
Q7. How do I view more than 250 documents at one time in PaperWise Query?
Ans. Query defaults to allow you to view up to 250 documents at a time. To change the default setting,
do the following:
  • From Query, Click on Edit, Preferences, Advanced.
  • At the bottom of the window, you will see the field “Maximum number of documents to return (0=no limit). The default setting is 250. You can change it to whatever you want. Limiting the number of documents that come back will reduce the time it takes to retrieve. This is a user specific setting.
  • If you set it to 0, you can potentially retrieve all the documents in your PaperWise database. This could take a long time to process if you have many documents in your database. Recommendation – set the default to 500 or 1,000. When the search is complete, if you look at the bottom of the document viewer and see and asterisk after the 500 or 1,000 (500* or 1000*) this means there are more than 500 or 1000 documents meeting your search criteria. You can then go back into the preferences and increase the number of documents to return in your search, or check your search criteria to see if you can narrow down your search parameters.
Q8. How do I view a document history.
Ans.
  • From PaperWise Query, Right Click on the document.
  • Click View Document History.
  • The Image History will display in a separate viewer. You can print the Image History by clicking on the Print Button in the lower right hand corner of the viewer.
Q9. Scanned documents from remote office are not appearing in Query. What do I do?
Ans.
  • SyncWise was not running in main office location. Contact System Administrator.
Q10. How do I Add a digital signature as a stamp in PaperWise annotations.
Ans.
  • Save a Digital Signature in BitMap format.
  • Click Annotation Toolbar
  • Click Manage Stamps
  • Click Add Stamp
  • Enter Name for Stamp
  • Enter Path to BitMap File.
  • Once the stamp is saved, just click on the selected stamp, and then click on your document. You can then move or resize the image of the signature as needed.
